For those that were at the 2012 MREW Conference in Leeds you will have heard about the future developments of SARLOC.

For those that weren't, and you missed a great weekend, I will summarise them;

1) Move to token system
To prevent misuse of the URL sent to the LostPer once they become a FoundPer, I am implementing a 'token' system whereby the URL sent to the LostPer.
Instead of using a Radio ID on the end of the URL, a 'token' will be used (Such as "Ed7Y8j")
Once the LostPer becomes a FoundPer the token can be disabled and will no longer report into MRMap.

2) Web Based SARLOC Activation
I am developing a web page where you will be able to activate SARLOC.
You will be able to enter the LostPer's mobile, select a Team ID, selcet a 'token' validity period' (in hours) and optionally enter a response mobile number and an email address.
The web page will requst a token off SARLOC and send the request to the LostPer.
When SARLOC receives the location it will update MRMap, and if you supplied a 'response mobile' it will send a text message to the mobile with the SARLOC location. If you supplied an email address the details will also be sent to that address.

3) SMS Activation fo SARLOC
I am currently testing a system whereby you can activate SARLOC by sending it an SMS message containing the LostPer's mobile and a team ID.
SARLOC will do 2) (Above)

I will be looking for testers shortly.
Any questions please ask.

One thing I have added is the ability to download a GPX file for a SARLOC hit.

From the SARLOC reports pages, click on the blob for a SARLOC hit and then select the GPX link at the bottom.

This could be loaded into a hand held GPS
