Along with Rob and Dave I am working on a web based mrmap.ini file editor so you can 'submit' your changes directly.
It is a work in progress (as are most things) but if you fancy having a look and commenting it would be very useful. Drop em a mail and I will give you a login.
The ultimate idea (and Dave, correct me if I am wrong) is to make MRMap read most of its details from a single source which would be a secure database on the web.
To make any changes you would log onto the web interface and make any changes you require. Next time MRMap start up it would download a new 'ini' file with all the latest changes.
I have had a few comments so far and one of the more complex ones is along the following lines;
Many teams keep their own copy of the 'ini' file with names in it and publicise an anonymous copy for other teams. So my team wants to see "Oggie Russ" but wants other teams to see "Oggie 255" for example.
This could easily be achieved by having a public and a private record for each radio. MRMap would then have to identify who is downloading the 'ini' file and create a suitable one for that team.
If you have any other suggestions please comment her and we will see if we can incorporate them.
